THE FOLLOW-ON MISSION

We are losing more Combat Veterans and First Responders to suicide than in the Line of Duty.

The Follow-On Mission provides Adrenaline Therapy through fully immersive Motorsports at no charge to Combat Veterans and First Responders.

WHAT IS ADRENALINE THERAPY?

Saving Lives with Adrenaline Therapy

Adrenaline therapy is the process of providing the physiological reactions experienced in combat, but through recreational activity. This allows a person to reacclimate to and enjoy an adrenaline rush in a setting free of anxiety, anger, and fear.

The Follow-On Mission provides Adrenaline Therapy through Motorsports and is a complete immersion into the Race Team and the brother/sisterhood the team offers.

Endurance Road Racing is (typically) formatted in two eight-hour races held over a Saturday and Sunday or one 14-to-24-hour race beginning on Saturday. Due to the physically brutal nature of the sport, sanctioning bodies limit competitors to either 90 or 120 minutes of continuous driving before switching out with another driver. Rather than competitors sitting in the pits waiting for their turn to drive, The Follow-On Mission requires them to serve the Race Team in some aspect.

On-the-job training (OJT) and rehearsals before the race allow the driver to serve in positions such as crew chief, car captain, or mechanic. The driver will also serve as a tire changer, jack operator, fueler, or fireman during pit stops for other drivers.

Through this service requirement, the driver is fully immersed with the Team and reaps the benefits of competitive teamwork and fellowship with like-minded individuals who also suffer the damage caused by exposure to combat. The service requirement aids in the vetting process of prospective drivers and includes those with physical limitations. Key race staff positions include radio operator, spotter, team photographer or videographer, and timekeeper. Each duty is integral to team success and requires training and rehearsal.
